Your Dutch Red Hat Partner
SUE is a Red Hat partner in the Netherlands and helps you build and manage platforms on Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and the Ansible Automation Platform. We migrate your VMs from VMware to OpenShift Virtualization, automate your Linux management, and take over day-to-day management if you’d like.
Our Red Hat Services
From an initial assessment of your vSphere environment to a production-ready OpenShift cluster: we work step by step and at your own pace. You retain control over your platform and your data, using open source with no lock-in.
01
Assessment & Consulting
We'll assess your VMs, Linux servers, and clusters and create a migration and subscription plan for OpenShift, RHEL, and Ansible.
02
Migration & Implementation
We'll set up OpenShift Virtualization or OpenShift Container Platform and migrate your workloads in phases using the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization.
03
Automation with Ansible
Ansible Automation Platform for patching, provisioning, and compliance, so your IT team has less manual work to do.
04

Red Hat Use Cases
01
VMware Migration to Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization
Common VMware Challenges
General support for vSphere 8.0 and ESXi 8.0 ends on October 11, 2027, and since the acquisition by Broadcom, licenses have become more expensive and less flexible. Many teams want to switch, but you can’t migrate hundreds of VMs with dependencies in just one weekend.
Migrate Your VMs to OpenShift Virtualization
We’ll assess your vCenter environment and work with you to choose between the OpenShift Virtualization Engine (VMs only) and full OpenShift (VMs and containers on the same nodes). We’ll then migrate in phases using the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization and Ansible playbooks for validation and rollback. We’ll containerize the components you want to modernize later using Re:App.
Advantages
Migrate from vSphere 8 in a timely manner to a KVM platform that Gartner positioned as a Leader in 2026. A single platform for your VMs and containers.
02
Migration to RHEL 10 and Linux Automation with Ansible
Common Linux Challenges
Mixed environments with CentOS, RHEL 7 and 8, and manually patched servers lead to configuration drift and delays in security updates. Under NIS2, you must be able to demonstrate that your patching is up to standard.
Standardize on RHEL 10; automate with the Ansible Automation Platform
We’re migrating your servers to RHEL 10 in phases and using image mode to build and deploy the operating system as a container image. the, we’re automating patching and hardening, and we’re opening up the self-service automation portal to teams without Ansible knowledge. At Rijk Zwaan, SUE migrated the entire CentOS environment to RHEL.
Advantages
One standard image per server role and less drift. Insights into time savings via the automation dashboard, plus post-quantum cryptography in RHEL 10.
03
Platform Engineering on Red Hat OpenShift
Common Platform Challenges
Development teams wait for individual clusters and tickets, and each team manages its own pipelines and policies. As a result, security and configuration vary from team to team.
Build an internal platform on OpenShift
We set up OpenShift as an internal developer platform with fixed golden paths, GitOps, and RBAC per team, either on-premises or in the cloud. Development teams roll out their own projects within the parameters that your platform team defines once.
Advantages
Faster deployment from commit to production, with a security policy that's the same for every team.
The IT challenges
Many Dutch organizations run a mix of VMware, older Linux versions, and standalone Kubernetes clusters, with a strict deadline in October 2027. At the same time, NIS2, DORA, and the AI Act require demonstrable control over configuration, access, and data. In Red Hat’s State of Cloud Native Security Report 2026, 78% of organizations cite misconfigurations as the primary cause of incidents.
How Red Hat Helps
- A single open hybrid platform: OpenShift runs VMs and containers side by side, on bare metal in your own data center or in the public cloud.
- Security and Compliance: RHEL 10 introduces post-quantum cryptography and image mode; Ansible automates hardening based on your own baseline.
- European sovereignty: With Confirmed Sovereign Support, you receive support from verified EU citizens who work in the EU, and all Red Hat software is open source.
Partner with SUE for your Red Hat implementation
- Migration in phases: We migrate your VMs and servers by application group, with a rollback plan for each step.
- Experience since 1997: SUE has been providing Infrastructure & Operations services since 1997, ranging from Managed Linux to Managed Kubernetes.
- Platform engineering: We're expanding OpenShift into an internal platform that your development teams can use on their own.
- Managed Services: After the migration, we'll take over patching, monitoring, and upgrades, or we'll hand over management to your own team.
Frequently asked questions
All frequently asked questionsOpenShift Virtualization runs your VMs on the KVM hypervisor within OpenShift, with live migration and, starting with version 4.21, cross-cluster live migration as well. Red Hat is positioned as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Server Virtualization Platforms. Whether it’s the right fit depends on your workloads and dependencies, such as NSX. We’ll assess that for you in advance.
OpenShift Virtualization Engine is an edition of OpenShift designed exclusively for virtualization workloads, and it includes the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization. If you want to run containers in addition to VMs, or modernize your applications in the future, choose an edition of OpenShift that supports containers. We’ll help you choose based on your roadmap.
Start by taking stock of your vCenter environment: What VMs, networks, and dependencies—such as NSX—do you have? Then migrate in waves using the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization, which transfers VMs from vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization. Ansible playbooks validate each wave and keep a rollback ready. Plan ahead, because general support for vSphere 8 ends on October 11, 2027.
With Leapp, you perform an in-place upgrade for each major version—so first from RHEL 8 to 9, and then to 10. For servers with a lot of configuration drift, a fresh installation is often faster, especially if you’re working with Ansible or image mode. SUE migrated the entire CentOS environment to RHEL at Rijk Zwaan. We determine the best approach for each server role.
