Patching, monitoring, backup

Standard Linux Administration

Linux Management Standard is SUE’s proactive management service for organizations with 1–150 Linux servers. We take full responsibility for patching, monitoring, and backup using a clearly defined and repeatable approach. This ensures your systems remain secure, compliant, and predictable—without adding to your operations workload. We support RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE, and Debian. The service can be expanded to include 24/7 support, security scanning, hardening, and IAM automation, tailored to your organization’s requirements.

To find out which distribution is right for your next step, read the guide “Choosing a Linux Distribution.” For more information on what SUE does in terms of Linux management, visit the “Managed Linux” page. To learn how SUE migrates and automates Linux environments, visit the “Linux” page.

How Linux Management Keeps Critical Systems Running for Our Customers

Outsourcing Linux Management

Are you facing a shortage of resources, and is expertise concentrated among just a few engineers? Is Linux management being added on top of existing workloads, is your tooling fragmented, are issues being resolved reactively, and are security and compliance risks arising? If so, outsourcing your Linux management is a choice that ensures security and reliability.

For organizations with 1–150 Linux servers, we offer a fixed package at a fixed monthly price. You can find more information about this in this one-pager.

In addition to our standard management service, we offer everything from on-demand support to full 24/7 managed services. With experience dating back to 1997 and a team of over 80 certified Linux engineers, you’ll benefit from a vast reservoir of knowledge and experience that guarantees continuity and stability in the setup and management of mission-critical environments.

Organizations choose to outsource Linux management to SUE because of our in-depth Linux expertise, combined with a pragmatic approach:

  • Experience in infrastructure and operations since 1997
  • Specialist in hybrid and cloud native environments
  • Focus on standardization and predictability
  • No reliance on individual experts
  • Clear agreements and transparent collaboration.

In addition to Linux management, we can also handle the management of Kubernetes environments and manage cloud migrations.

Linux Management Standard covers monitoring, patching, and backup checks for 1 to 150 Linux servers. SUE monitors CPU, memory, disk space, and availability, with alerts via email or Slack. We apply patches monthly with pre- and post-patch checks, and you’ll receive a health check report every month. Also included are an initial security baseline scan and 6 hours of Linux OS management per month.
For organizations with 1 to 150 Linux servers where Linux is essential but not a core business activity. Often, the expertise lies with one or two engineers, and managing the servers is done in addition to their other work.
Having your own administrator makes sense if Linux is your core business and you have enough work to fill a full-time position. If that’s not the case, having just one administrator becomes a risk in the event of vacation, illness, or resignation. SUE works with over 70 certified Linux engineers and follows established processes in accordance with ISO 9001. If you already have an administrator, SUE can supplement your team with on-demand support.
Monitoring runs 24/7. Support included in the standard package is available 8x5, on business days during business hours. You can add 24/7 support, as well as security scanning, hardening, and IAM automation.
This depends on the number of servers, the service level, and whether you need 24/7 incident response. Linux Management Standard is a fixed-price package for 1 to 150 servers, with a fixed monthly fee. Compare that to the cost of 24/7 management with your own staff: for a full on-call service, you’ll quickly need five to six engineers.
