The Benefits of Managed Cloud Security at SUE

A security tool that generates alerts that no one acts on does not reduce risk. That’s why Managed Cloud Security at SUE is all about follow-through: we determine which findings really matter and resolve them, or prepare them for the team that builds the environment.

At Buckaroo, a payment service provider that must comply with PCI-DSS, SUE was implemented as the central security dashboard for the AWS environment. Development and platform teams can identify risks in their own environments and resolve them independently, without having to submit every change to a central security function. SUE helps assess and prioritize these risks.

  • Continuous insight into your security posture: New resources, permissions, and configurations are immediately reflected in a single security view—not just during the next audit.

  • Prioritization Based on Actual Risks: We combine vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and identities so you can see which risks are actually exploitable.

  • Issues are resolved: Our engineers resolve issues in the environments we manage, or provide a concrete fix to your team.

  • Demonstrable compliance: Reports you use during audits for NIS2, BIO, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and other standards.

  • Bringing security closer to development: Teams can identify the risks in their own environments, as is the case with Buckaroo.

  • A Single Point of Contact: The same engineers who manage your Kubernetes, Linux, or cloud environment are also familiar with your security landscape.

How we help

What is included in Managed Cloud Security?

Managed Cloud Security has a modular structure, just like our other Managed Services. Each component can be purchased separately. Together, they cover the entire chain from code to runtime, in line with our zero-trust approach based on three pillars: Data & Software Security, Application Runtime Security, and Infrastructure Security.

01

Cloud Security Posture Management

We continuously monitor your AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments using Wiz. Misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, overly broad permissions, and exposed workloads are all consolidated into a single view. At Huisman , Wiz provided a complete overview of the Azure environment’s cloud risk profile within a few hours.

02

Vulnerability Management + Patching

We scan container images and servers—for example, using Trivy—and patch operating systems and platform components on a regular schedule. We address critical vulnerabilities as a priority, outside of that schedule.

03

Detection + Incident Response

Runtime detection using tools such as Falco and Amazon GuardDuty identifies anomalous behavior in containers and cloud accounts. Alerts are sent to the same team that manages your environment, with 24/7 monitoring and established escalation procedures.

04

Identity + Access Management

Zero Trust starts with determining who has access to what. We set up access using Keycloak or Cloudflare Zero Trust, clean up old accounts and passwords, and monitor credential hygiene. At SIDN, SUE helped replace passwords across the entire infrastructure and establish ownership by team.

05

Edge + Network Security

With Managed Cloudflare, we protect websites, APIs, and internal applications against DDoS attacks and abuse, and replace VPN access with Zero Trust. SUE is a Cloudflare partner.

06

Compliance + Reporting

We translate findings into reports that you can use during an audit, including for NIS2 (the Cybersecurity Act), BIO, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS. This allows you to continuously demonstrate your current status, rather than just once a year.

How SUE Helps Secure Mission-Critical Cloud Environments

How we help

Why You Should Choose Managed Cloud Security from SUE

Security works best when it’s handled by the same people who build and manage the environment. That’s why SUE combines Managed Cloud Security with Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud management: whoever finds a vulnerability can also fix it.

Onyx One, a SaaS platform for contractor management, migrated to Kubernetes with SUE’s help and added Managed Security Services. Since then, SUE has been continuously helping the team identify, prevent, and manage security risks. As a result, the Onyx One team has more time to focus on product development and customer success.

We work with partners such as Wiz, Cloudflare, Dynatrace, and Aquasec, as well as open-source tools like Trivy, Falco, and Keycloak. If you’d like to start with a baseline assessment, begin with the Cloud Security Health Check: two weeks, two consultants, and a roadmap that prioritizes the most urgent issues.

Onboarding made easy

Here's how we get started with Managed Cloud Security

We start with a baseline assessment of your security posture. Next, we define the scope, SLAs, and escalation paths, and integrate the tools into your environment. After go-live, we discuss findings and trends during regular reviews.

  • Baseline Assessment: A Cloud Security Health Check or an initial scan with Wiz, including a prioritized list of risks.

  • Scope + SLAs: Which accounts, clusters, and servers are covered, and who responds when.

  • Technical onboarding: Integrating Wiz, Cloudflare, and logging with your environment and our monitoring system.

  • Responsibilities + Escalation: What SUE handles, what your own team handles, and how we escalate an incident.

  • Ongoing Reviews: Regular reviews of findings, trends, and the status of your compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Managed Cloud Security

All frequently asked questions
Managed Cloud Security is the ongoing management of your cloud environment’s security by a third party. At SUE, this means: setting up tools such as Wiz and Cloudflare, monitoring your environment, prioritizing risks, and resolving them—either on our own or in collaboration with your team. SUE provides these services for AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and on-premises environments.
The Cloud Security Health Check is a one-time, two-week assessment conducted by two consultants. You’ll receive a roadmap outlining the most urgent areas for improvement. Managed Cloud Security is an ongoing service: SUE monitors your environment and follows up on findings. The Health Check is therefore a logical first step.
If your cloud environment is changing faster than a small team can keep up with, or if security is currently the responsibility of just one or two people, SUE continuously monitors the environment and follows up on findings; your own team keeps track of the risks and helps make decisions. At Buckaroo, development and platform teams identify the risks in their own environments and resolve them themselves, with SUE providing support in assessing and prioritizing them.
The alert is received by the same team that is familiar with your environment. At the start, we’ll work with you to determine in which cases SUE will intervene directly, when we’ll involve your own team, and within what timeframe. Monitoring is available 24/7.
Yes. SUE scans container images—for example, using Trivy—detects anomalous behavior in running containers using Falco, and enforces network policies in the cluster using Cilium. If your cluster is already running on SUE’s Managed Kubernetes, Managed Cloud Security integrates seamlessly with it.
Yes. SUE helped SIDN, the organization behind the .nl domain, strengthen the security baseline of its on-premises infrastructure. Passwords throughout the infrastructure have been replaced, credential hygiene is actively monitored, and backup and restore tests for critical databases have been formalized.
