Linux: Migration, Automation, and Management
SUE (formerly Snow) has been working with Unix and Linux since 1997. We migrate, automate, secure, and manage Linux environments for mission-critical applications: on bare metal, on VMware, in the cloud, or as the foundation for Kubernetes, including with an immutable operating system such as Talos Linux. We are partners with Red Hat and SUSE.
Linux specialist since 1997
Most of the Linux issues we encounter aren’t caused by the distribution itself. They stem from servers that have been configured manually and differ from one another. That’s why SUE captures the configuration as code, using Ansible, Terraform, or Salt. This makes patching predictable and reduces the scope of the next migration.
To learn how to choose between RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux, check out our guide on choosing a Linux distribution.
When should you activate SUE?
-
There are still servers running CentOS 7 or another unsupported distribution. They no longer receive security updates.
-
Your Linux servers have been configured manually and differ from one another, which makes patching and securing them very time-consuming.
-
An audit (BIO, ISO 27001, NIS2) reveals that hardening, patching, or logging is lagging behind.
-
A system must not fail and requires a high-availability design.
-
You want to move away from VMware and are looking for a Linux-based alternative.
-
You don't have enough Linux engineers for maintenance, upgrades, or 24/7 management.
What does SUE do with Linux?
From migration and automation to 24/7 management with Managed Linux, and Linux as the foundation for Kubernetes. We are partners with Red Hat and SUSE.

From CentOS to RHEL. The entire CentOS infrastructure was migrated to RHEL using the Ansible Automation Platform, and the Rancher environment was upgraded to RKE2. This was accomplished with minimal downtime and in accordance with security and compliance requirements.

Research papersFrequently asked questions
All frequently asked questionsYes. First, we identify which applications are running on the servers and what support their vendors provide. Then, we use automation to migrate to RHEL, SUSE, or an RHEL-compatible distribution, and we test each application individually. At Rijk Zwaan , we did this for the entire CentOS environment.
This depends on the number of servers, the service level, and whether you need 24/7 incident response. Compare that to the cost of 24/7 management with your own staff: for a full on-call service, you’ll quickly need five to six engineers.
Yes. We start with an assessment and health check, automate the configuration, and then take over management.
