Common Challenges in Kubernetes Monitoring
Pods scale up and down, services communicate with each other across dozens of hops, and an alert on a single node rarely tells you which deployment is the actual cause. Teams then have to figure it out in a war room using separate dashboards for each layer.
See all your clusters in a single topology
We deploy Dynatrace on your clusters in AKS, EKS, or your own data center and integrate existing OpenTelemetry instrumentation with Grail. Smartscape maps the relationships between pods, nodes, services, and applications, enabling Dynatrace Intelligence to pinpoint the component causing the problem for each incident. With Managed Kubernetes, we can then also take over cluster management.

Common Monitoring and DORA Challenges
Many organizations use a mix of legacy APM tools, standalone logging tools, and custom-built dashboards. This results in duplicate licensing and data storage costs, while in the event of a major IT incident under DORA or NIS2, you need to be able to quickly demonstrate what happened.
Replace disparate monitoring tools with a single Dynatrace platform
We’ll take stock of your current tools and data flows and migrate each application to Dynatrace, using OpenPipeline to filter logs before they are sent to Grail. For financial institutions, Dynatrace also offers Site Reliability Guardian for change validation and the Compliance Assistant for DORA reporting. Legacy tools will only be phased out once coverage in Dynatrace has been verifiably established.

When you purchase through SUE, you combine the license with implementation, management, and assistance in aligning usage with what you’re monitoring. If you purchase through the marketplace, it may count toward your existing agreements with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. We’ll work with you to determine which option is most cost-effective for you.
Yes. Dynatrace maps the entire topology of your Kubernetes environment and identifies the responsible service or infrastructure component in the event of an incident. You can import data that you’re already collecting with OpenTelemetry into Dynatrace, including data for AI workloads using the GenAI conventions.
Costs depend on what you monitor and how much data you store and retain. With OpenPipeline, you filter data before it is stored in Grail, and you can set how long to retain each type of data. We provide an estimate upfront based on your environment and then track your usage on a monthly basis.
Dynatrace helps with the technical aspects of DORA, such as rapid incident analysis, insight into vulnerabilities in third-party software using Runtime Vulnerability Analytics, and change validation with Site Reliability Guardian. The Compliance Assistant aggregates relevant metrics and events for reporting. Policies and reporting processes to the regulator remain your responsibility, and we’re here to help you navigate them.
Dynatrace Intelligence supports three phases: recommendations, human-supervised actions, and autonomous actions within defined guardrails. You choose the level of automation for each type of incident. We recommend starting with recommendations and approval, and only automating once the results are demonstrably accurate.
