Your Dutch Microsoft Azure Partner
SUE is your Microsoft Azure partner for landing zones, migration, .NET modernization, security, and management. We set up your Azure environment as code using Bicep and Azure Policy, migrate and modernize your workloads step by step, and then keep the platform secure and cost-effective.
Our Microsoft Azure Services
From the initial subscription to day-to-day management, we follow the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework. You remain in control of your Azure tenant, and we provide the engineers who configure Azure Policy, Entra ID, and Defender for Cloud on a daily basis.
01
Azure Landing Zone
We are building a platform landing zone with management groups, Azure Policy, Entra ID, PIM, and centralized logging in Microsoft Sentinel, defined in Bicep so that every new workload is subject to the same guardrails.
02
Migration to Azure
With a Cloud Readiness Assessment and Azure Migrate, we assess your servers, VMware environments, and applications and migrate them—workload by workload—to Azure VMs, AKS, or PaaS.
03
FinOps and Security
We integrate Azure Cost Management and the Microsoft FinOps toolkit with a Cloud Security Health Check, so you can see the costs and identify risks for each subscription.
04
Managed Services
With Managed Cloud, we monitor, patch, and optimize your Azure environment under an SLA, with dedicated engineers who are familiar with your landing zone.
05
Support
Need Microsoft Azure support right now?
Is your Azure migration stalled, has a deployment gone wrong, or is an Azure Policy blocking your release? Contact us, and a SUE engineer will help you troubleshoot the issue.

Microsoft Azure Use Cases
01
Modernizing .NET Applications on Azure
Common .NET Challenges
Many software companies and IT departments still run .NET Framework applications on Windows VMs. Furthermore, on November 10, 2026, Microsoft will end support for .NET 8 and .NET 9, so even newer applications will need to migrate to .NET 10. Without an upgrade, you will no longer receive security updates, and a monolithic application on a VM scales poorly and incurs Windows licensing costs per server.
Modernize Your .NET Application Step by Step
We first map out the application using Re:App: business rules, dependencies, and the connections to the database and user interface. Next, we separate the business logic from the user interface, just as we do at CarWise with a .NET desktop application consisting of millions of lines of C# code. Then we upgrade to .NET 10 and migrate the application to containers on AKS or Azure Container Apps, or to App Service if that’s a better fit.
Advantages
A supported version of .NET with security updates through November 2028. Containers that you can scale component by component, without a big-bang rewrite.
02
Migrating VMware and the Data Center to Azure
Common Challenges in VMware Migration
Microsoft will discontinue the pay-as-you-go versions of Azure VMware Solution with built-in VMware licensing on October 31, 2026, and the license-included service will be discontinued entirely on August 30, 2027. Customers running on AVS or on their own vSphere hosts must choose between purchasing their own VCF licenses from Broadcom or migrating to Azure-native services.
Migrate Your VMware Workloads to Azure
We start with a Cloud Readiness Assessment and agentless discovery in Azure Migrate, including dependency maps and 6R recommendations for each application. We then migrate in waves to Azure VMs, AKS, or PaaS within a pre-configured landing zone, and modernize where it makes sense using Re:App. For workloads that need to remain on VMware for the time being, we pass on the cost of AVS using our own VCF licenses.
Advantages
A decision before the AVS deadline in August 2027, supported by workload-specific metrics. Less reliance on a single hypervisor vendor and a cost overview that you can view by application in Azure Cost Management.
The IT challenges
Dutch organizations rely on Microsoft 365 and Entra ID and want to integrate Azure with them, while the debate over dependence on U.S. cloud providers and the CLOUD Act in 2026 has intensified. At the same time, the Cybersecurity Act (implementing NIS2), DORA and the GDPR require demonstrable control over access, logging, and data location. On top of that, the phase-out of the license-included Azure VMware Solution and the end of support for .NET 8 are forcing many teams to make a decision now.
How Microsoft Azure Helps
- Data in Europe: As of February 2025, the EU Data Boundary has been completed, ensuring that customer and support data from Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365 are stored and processed within the EU and EFTA.
- Sovereign Options: With the Sovereign Landing Zone, External Key Management, and Azure Local, you can choose the level of control you need for each workload, up to a private cloud in your own data center.
- AI and modernization in the same tenant: Microsoft Foundry and AKS are in the same tenant as your identities and security tools.
Work with SUE on your Azure deployment
- Assessment first: We start with a Cloud Readiness Assessment or Data Sovereignty Assessment so that you can determine, for each workload, whether Azure, Azure Local, or another platform is the right fit.
- Landing Zone as Code: Your Azure foundation is defined in Bicep using Azure Policy, PIM, and Sentinel, and is repeatable for every new subscription.
- No lock-in with us: All code, documentation, and runbooks belong to you, and we work just as well with AWS, Kubernetes, and Linux if you need a multicloud or exit strategy.
- Management and FinOps: After going live, we monitor availability, security, and Azure costs using Managed Cloud and Cloud Cost Optimization.
Frequently asked questions
All frequently asked questionsMicrosoft will discontinue the pay-as-you-go versions of AVS that include the VMware license on October 31, 2026, and the license-included service as a whole on August 30, 2027. After that, you’ll only be able to run AVS with your own transferable VCF licenses from Broadcom. We’ll help you choose, on a per-workload basis, between AVS with your own license, rehosting to Azure VMs, or modernizing to AKS and PaaS.
Start with the version: .NET 8 and .NET 9 will no longer receive updates after November 10, 2026; .NET 10 will be supported until November 2028. After that, identify the business logic within the application and how it is tied to the interface and database. Upgrade, decouple, and containerize each component, using AKS, Azure Container Apps, or App Service as the target. SUE has modernized .NET applications to Azure using this approach.
With the EU Data Boundary, scheduled for completion in February 2025, customer data and support data from most Azure services will be stored and processed within the EU and EFTA. However, Microsoft remains a U.S. company, so the risk posed by extraterritorial legislation such as the CLOUD Act does not disappear as a result. In a Data Sovereignty Assessment, we evaluate whether the Sovereign Public Cloud, External Key Management, or Azure Local is sufficient for each workload.
Yes, Microsoft Foundry offers Global, Data Zone, and Regional deployments, and hosted agents in Foundry Agent Service support regional data residency in approximately twenty Azure regions. With VNet integration and Entra ID, the agent communicates with your on-premises systems without a public endpoint.
Start by gaining insights on a per-subscription and per-application basis using Azure Cost Management and the FinOps hubs from the Microsoft FinOps toolkit. Next, focus on right-sizing, cleaning up unused resources, buying Azure Reservations for stable workloads, and making architectural choices such as using PaaS instead of VMs. With Cloud Cost Optimization, we’ll carry out these steps with you and embed them within your teams.
